Possible hate crime in Salt Lake City.

Sat, 19 Apr 2008 06:10:37 PDT
Man gets dragged out of his car and beaten by 8 white males. The news clip said his head was stomped on the curb. This story practically got nil coverage, maybe a 30 second spot on the news. Apparently Utah'ns are more worried about polygamous sects in TX than they are about hate crimes in their own state. FYI this has happened here before.

Where Are the Softballs?

Sat, 19 Apr 2008 06:24:53 PDT
It occurs to me I should probably cite an example of what’s called out in the post previous. The left half of the blogosphere, criticizing the right half with an unflattering and snarky Election-Season Guide, fails to note the beam in its own eye as it points out the brother’s mote. Liberals are so funny…They’ve always been, in my lifetime, confused about whether an allegation or value system is shown to be lacking in merit because of who believes in it, or whether the personalities are shown

Just a couple of weeks ago, I was driving around with a GPS device connected to my car windscreen. I don’t use it when I’m in familiar territory but it’s a great little device to have at my beck and call since I have a knack for losing my way . My GPS will come in handy when my son learns to drive soon. I figure it’ll be a matter of time before we’re going to need to find some way to keep track of where he’s at when he takes the car out for a spin. Or even just to help him find his way around

Silly Saturday: Stupid Questions

Sat, 19 Apr 2008 06:27:40 PDT
Remember that scene from "Wolf," where the doctor tells Jack Nicholson about the kid who was bitten by a snake and suffered brain damage? Then Nicholson asks, "Is he OK?" And the doctor says, "No, you idiot. He has brain damage." How many stupid questions do you hear on a daily basis? My all-time favorite: Back when I was a teacher, a student asked me, "How do you say bon voyage in French?" Not kidding. True story. OK. One more: Sometimes, when you share a classroom, you find the last te
